This Months President’s Report: -
Another month has gone. We are getting closer to the Rally is only just over a month away. Rowdy is
looking after the roster so give him a call on 03 688 0694, or he will be in contact with you to find out what
jobs you will be available for.
Now that daylight savings has kicked in the days are getting longer and the evenings are a bit warmer for riding.
Those who have gone to the Mt Cook rally I hope you have a good weekend and the rain stayed away for the trip and you all have a safe ride.
The organising for the rally is going well with just a few thing left to do.
Club News: -
The club has quite a lot of sausages, mince and other goodies left over from Glo’s poker run. This will be available to our hard working members at our Rally until it runs out.
This months club ride and meeting: - The ride will be leaving from The Empire Hotel 12 a m Sunday 29th October, riding to Hinds Tavern.
BRONZ Globe Trotter Run: -
Rowdy and I entered the event with great enthusiasm and energy as we have been on many of these BRONZ rallies and have been part of the winning teams almost always. We met up with fellow enthusiasts at the Port Loop and after receiving instructions we were on our way.
We were the only TTAG members so to enable us to be in the team event we joined up with Chris and Alan from the Christchurch Triumph club.
The first part was local knowledge and ability to count!! That brought heaps of laughter. Lunch was at the Makikihi Hotel and 30 meals from 3 choices was very well organized. Congratulations go to the bar and
kitchen staff there.
The second part was more of a time trial, with cows crossing roads, loose shingle, fords to cross, some slow, tight corners and eventually ended up at Atwill Park – Waimate.
Our team was first in the teams event, that was a buzz. Prizes were donated from local bike shops. Lots of fun watching helmet throwing. Heaps of babble, beer and tall tales.
Good sleeping in the scout camp, could hear the bell birds and thoroughly enjoyed the event.
Huge thanks to Morris Jones and his team for yet another awesome weekend.
Ride safely, cheers.

The Mt. Cook Rally: -
we all met at Robbies in Washdyke at 10am, ( not a bad turn out considering the horrible, unseasonal weather conditions ). Liz and Rowdy, Debbie and Billy, Susan and Mike, Charley, Russel and Kerian, Kerry and myself all left wrapped up like little Eskimos.
We decided to go via Kurow etc. wise move turned out it pissed down all the way up from Pleasant Point on. Conditions were ok until we had a lunch stop at Omarama, beaut meal, from there on the skies opened up all the way to Mt Cook.
We received the usual warm greetings from staff at the Chamois bar, checked into our respective rooms got changed into some dry clothes and in the bar before 3 O’clock to claim our complimentary drink. A wee bit later we were joined by Dolina and Grant so Ttag was well represented.
Entertainment was great even when Charley got up on stage and gave us his own rendition of Copperhead Road . A good night was had by all, some of us might have over indulged a wee bit but hey that’s what we’re there for.
We all met up for a buffet breakfast then back to the rooms to get packed and set off for a wet ride home. Good company, good ride, good food and plenty to drink what more could you possibly want. All and all a bloody great weekend.
This Months Joke’s: -
Sometimes it really pays to think logically…..here’s a good example.
I went to the liquor store last Friday afternoon on my bicycle, bought a bottle of Scotch and put it in the bicycle basket.
As I was about to leave, I thought to myself that if I fell off the bicycle, the bottle would break. So I drank all the Scotch before I cycled home.
It turned out to be a very good decision, because I fell off my bicycle seven times on the way home.
